Eden Ellis Hatch has always been drawn to the art of gathering. At five years old, she was handed a Miss Manners handbook and a tea set — an early introduction to etiquette, hosting, and the quiet details that transform an occasion into a memory. Decades later, that same reverence for tradition and thoughtful hospitality forms the foundation of everything Ellis Event Design does.

Raised in a family that marked each season with intention and generosity, Eden came to understand early on that the most meaningful celebrations are never accidental. They are built, carefully, by people who care deeply about the experience of every guest in the room. From the age of fifteen, Eden built her expertise from the inside out — working across catering, venue operations, and large-scale event production, and training alongside some of Charleston's most respected planners. By the time she graduated from the University of South Carolina, she had already developed a rare fluency in the full architecture of a wedding: how vendors communicate, where timelines fracture, and what separates a beautiful event from a truly seamless one.

That foundation deepened through her work with one of Charleston's premier event rental companies, where she advised couples and families navigating the most complex, high-investment celebrations of their lives. It was there that Eden recognized what distinguished the weddings that felt effortless: not luck, but the presence of someone who could hold the entire picture with clarity and calm. She founded Ellis Event Design to be exactly that for her clients.

Today, Eden is known for her strategic clarity, refined aesthetic direction, and composure under pressure. With longstanding relationships among Charleston and the Southeast's most sought-after venues, photographers, florists, and production teams, she brings both a thoughtful design perspective and a rigorous logistical framework to every celebration she leads.

Her goal is not simply to create beautiful weddings, but to produce experiences of genuine distinction; celebrations that guests remember not just for how they looked, but for how they felt. For the couples who trust her with their most significant occasions, that standard is non-negotiable.
